Tatum is 1

Ahhhh..the nights are just perfect now in Arizona to take photos just before the sun goes down! I had a perfect night for the 1 year old session with Tatum!

What a joy it is to be a part of a special celebration! The celebration of life is so much fun! The adorably cute Tatum was picture perfect in pink! Don’t forget to notice how hot mommy is too!

I have a feeling little Tatum will be seeing a lot more of Ms. Sandey and her camera. :)

Happy Birthday Tatum!

Hudson~11 Months

I find it so hard to blog about my Baby Hudson turning 11 months old. On the eve of this milestone, Taylor Swift’s song Ronan was performed and just crushed me. I know that most of the people around this nation who heard that song could not sleep that night. I was up a 3am still crying. The thought of losing Hudson is unbearable. The thought of being a helpless mother as your child’s body can’t fight anymore and that you can not take away their pain or illness is dreadful. Because us parents are suppose to outlive our children.

When I met Ronan back in 2010, my heart broke for him and his family. Hudson was not even a thought then. I did not even want to have children then. Now looking back I don’t think I could have handled taking pictures of Ronan if I would have had Hudson. The pain is felt so much greater now. And I have to say, his mama is one strong lady. For I would have given up. She continued to fight for all those sweet children who died from, are fighting and unfortunately who will one day have cancer.

Saturday marked Hudson’s 11th month. I drove to AJs…ordered 11 balloons. Just think…1 mama, 1 baby who is a runner, and 11 balloons….crazy right? Well I didn’t tie the first set on his wrist tight enough…ooops, the balloons went bye bye in 30 seconds (stuck in a tree). So we got back in the car…drove to AJs and ordered some more. Yes, I tied them just a little tighter. And Hudson had a blast!

When we were all done (I know Hudson had no clue what I was talking about) but we let them go and I said these are for Ronan.

So as you go to bed kiss your babies (even if they are 18) an extra time. And simply LOVE all.

I write in a small book each day a thought or memory for Hudson. Each day is special. Each day is important and each day I am filled with more and more love for everything in my life that I am greatful for! I will not let anything bother me or hold me back from being the best mama I can be to Hudson. He is alive and I am thankful.

It is has been all over the internet and if you have not done so go to iTunes and purchase Taylor Swift’s song Ronan.  If we all stand up and fight, we have a chance at beating cancer.

Much love and many hugs!

A Joyful Time

Words can not describe what a beautiful woman Susie is. This session I had in San Diego brought me back to this time last year. The hopes and dreams…the love for this amazing blessing that is months away from stealing your heart…and when those little hands and toes are in front of your eyes you realize that your heart already was their’s that moment you heard that first heart beat.

It is true what people say…you never know until it happens to you. And as I have said before, being pregnant with my baby Hudson was the most perfect and beautiful experience. Well maybe holding Hudson for the first time could top that. :)

Susie was perfect. She is perfect. Already a wonderful mother with a pure heart. I am so honored to be a mother and join the group of other mother’s that love, cherish and care for the most precious beings on this Earth…our children.

The cold water brought out fun, spontaneous laughter and smiles along with a few kicks from the baby. :)  Ahhhh…special moment…that only a mother to be can understand, feel, enjoy and own.

Much love to you Susie and your family! Soon you will have all of your children splashing in the water with you and Sam.

Simply Sweet LOVE!

Sweet ~adverb, noun, adjective~ having the taste or flavor characteristic of sugar, honey, etc.

Love ~noun~ a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.

All I keep saying after this past wedding is how sweet, genuine and wonderful the Reardon and Sims’s family are. Such beauty and grace flowed from the bride Jamie. Her groom, Marty, was a true gentleman.

Barry and I photographed over 3000 images and this one will take awhile to edit. Every image is just so perfect! Truly a spectacular day! All the thought out details and wonderful surprises could not outshine the love that Jamie and Marty have.

Thank you Jamie and Marty for including Barry and I in your special day. We are grateful to have been surrounded by such love.

Many CONGRATS and hugs!

The Ellison Family

One of the joys of being a part of NCPG is meeting all the terrific moms and building lifelong friendships. Hudson already has a group of friends and is already attending many birthday parties. This is a blast!

Kelly is in this group and also shares a mutual friend, Marissa. Thank you Marissa for referring Kelly and her family to me!

To beat the heat we started this session early in the morning and it was perfect out! It was a pleasure working with all three of you! And I look forward  to  photographing many more happy family moments with you!

Much love…Sandey and Baby Hudson

Jade and Eric

The Wrigley Mansion is one of my favorite places in Phoenix to photograph a wedding. And when you combined a great historical place with a couple that is creating their own history…the start of their future…you have one great day!

A HUGE congrats to Jade and Eric. Truly, two very wonderful people!

I just love this photo that Barry Gossage took of the boys

Mother’s Day 2012

Dear Mommies of the world,

You are all so very awesome! I now know first hand how wonderful it is to be a mother! To laugh with your child, read books to your child, hold your child, give endless kisses to your child, hug tightly your child, tuck your child in at bedtime, cry with your child, cry for your child, hurt when your child is hurting, chase your child, roll no the ground with your child, tickle your child’s feet, blow raspberries on your child’s belly, sing with your child, dance with your child, teach to your child learn from your child and to have undying love for your child!

It is hard work. Being a mom is a full time job no joke. So most of you mommies out there have 2 full time jobs just like me…work that you love to do and the work that is your life…your child. There is no comparison. My life is Hudson and he brings so much joy to me. Every second I am with him just doing anything is a blessing.

I bow to my grandmother Tenuto and will teach Hudson that family sticks together. I blow kisses to my granny who passed away just days before Hudson was born. I will try to make your famous banana, chocolate chip muffins for Hudson. I am sure they won’t be as good. I can not give enough to my mom. For she has helped make me the mom I am today to Hudson. And he is pretty darn great!

I never really knew what this day meant. It was such a Hallmark event. With Hudson, everyday is Mother’s Day. We had such a wonderful morning breakfast with friends. And my day was filled with wishes, thoughts and words of admiration from my friends and family. Thank you! One of my friends said that “I am the happiest mom”….know why?…You all make me feel beautiful, strong and loved. It is all of you that took that one moment to make today special that I love and hold dear. Hudson thanks you too. For I am so happy! Why do you think Hudson is always smiling! xo

Thanks to all the guys out there that showed kindness and love to the mother’s of their children. They love and care for your darling and most precocious thing in your life.

This photo is for all of you Mommies! Happy Mama Day! xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxooxoooxxxxxxxx

Love On a Sunday

First off….green converse shoes…I had no clue that they even existed! Way cool!

The weather in Phoenix has been so fabulous! And the family sessions just keep getting better! Life really can not get any better! Just look at the Cook family! Oliver is such a happy little boy! Such a beautiful and loving family!

After photographing their family I was inspired to take more photos of my Baby Hudson! Well, I think Hudson will have pictures taken of him every single day of his life :)

Peace and Love

Baby Cash

As I write this Baby Cash is now 28 hours old. I can not believe that less than 7 days ago I just photographed his mommy and daddy together with him still in the “oven”. This couple is so sweet. Both yogis with good hearts and souls. Baby Cash is going to grow up to be someone very special!

I remember that beautiful night Hudson was born. I am so thankful that 4 of my dear girlfriends and my mom were there to share in that moment with me! Hudson’s birth is the best day I have ever had in my life. And all the special moments just keep coming!

Jasmine and Jessie…enjoy every moment together with your precious baby boy! I love that you were once two and are now three. Baby Cash is a blessing to you! Thank you for inviting me to share in these and capture your moments together as a family! Cash will be so thankful one day to have these to look back at.

Jasmine was simply a stunning mommy to be!

Peace and Love…Namaste
